This brief database is designed to be an introduction to the opportunities and problems of finding genealogical sources located in Germany on your German ancestors. It assumes that you have already undertaken a search in the United States to identify your ancestor(s) and have some idea of from where in Germany they may have come. Once you have narrowed down your search to a particular state or area of Germany, this database will then introduce you to the available sources.
