Harney County, Oregon, Cemetery Records
Description (from source site)
Located in the southeast portion of Oregon, the three counties of Harney, Lake,
and Malheur comprise much of the sparsely populated portion of the state through
which many of the migration trails existed. This database seeks to illuminate
many of those who were buried in Harney County with a few from Lake and Malheur
counties between 1881 and 1970. It includes obituaries taken from Burns Times
Herald between 1964 and 1970. Information provided includes the name of the
deceased, birth and death dates and burial location; relationships, survivors,
and family information are provided for many. With over 4,600 names in a land
area much larger than Massachusetts, this collection represents some of the early
settlers' families who traveled through or remained in this area and provides
clues for the researcher to extend families and ancestry.
