Located in central Connecticut, the city of New Britain was originally a part of Hartford County. This database is a transcription of city directories originally published in 1888, 1889, 1891, 1892 and 1893. In addition to providing the resident's name, it provides their address and occupational information. It includes over 40,800 names, mostly heads of households. For the researcher of ancestors from central Connecticut, this can be an extremely valuable collection.
