Hillsdale County, Michigan, with a total of 4,298 farms in an area of 597 square miles, was distinctly a farm county in the 1920s. The county is located in the southern portion of the state, on the state line. This database is a directory of more than 10,300 residents in the Hillsdale County area between 1919 and 1924. It includes the cities of Adams, Allen, Amboy, Cambria, Camden, Fayette, Hillsdale, Jefferson, Litchfield, Moscow, Pittsford, Ransom, Reading, Scipio, Somerset, Wheatland, Woodbridge, and Wright.
