Originally settled by French explorers, Michigan became a state in 1837. This database contains records of marriages within the state for the years 1851 through 1875. This update adds records of Wayne County to those of Branch, Hillsdale, Jackson, and Kent counties. Researchers will find the names of both bride and groom, the date of the marriage, and the place of the marriage.
