This database is an index of about 2,200 obituaries from Iosco County, Michigan newspapers from 1978 through 1990. The index was prepared from an existing 3" x 5" card obituary file, which has been compiled by members of the Huron Shores Genealogical Society. Researchers may find the name of an individual, his or her birth date or age at death, his or her death date, and information about where (which newspaper) the obituary originally appeared. The Iosco County News Herald (abbreviated Herald) and the Oscoda Press (abbreviated Press) are the two main newspapers included in this index. Other newspapers will have their titles spelled out completely. A few entries do not include the newspaper title.
