Called the "First City of Kansas," Leavenworth is the county seat for Leavenworth County. Taken from the longest continuously published newspaper in the state, the Leavenworth Times, this database is an index of obituaries that appeared in the newspaper. It includes the names of more than 2,200 people who died in 1948. The database also includes, where available, birth dates and page numbers in the newspaper where the original obituary can be found.
