Louisiana City Parish Index

Description (from source site)
Parishes, not counties, are the jurisdictional divisions used in Louisiana. For researchers of persons who lived in the state, knowing which parish in which a town or city is, or was, located can be a tremendous help. This database is an index to towns and cities of the state and their corresponding parish. Compiled over a period of several years, information was collected from new and old maps, census records, city directories, and family histories. To further aid the researcher, each parish is linked from Ancestry.com to other internet pages which provide more detailed information regarding that particular parish. With 1,615 towns listed, it is one of the most comprehensive town indexes ever produced for the state.
