Belfast, Maine is located in Waldo County and was incorporated in 1773. It is located on the coast of Maine and has about 6,000 residents. The records in this database include town birth records between 1773 and 1892. However, there are several births included in this database prior to 1773, the earliest being two births from the 1740s (hence the dates in the database title). There are more than 5,500 total entries in the database. These entries include first, middle, and last names, and maiden names in brackets, for spouses and/or parents. Date of birth and place of birth (if other than Belfast) is also given. In some cases, baptismal dates are given, and in a few cases, ages at baptism are given as well.
