First settled by Spanish adventurers, New Mexico was a part of the Spanish Empire in 1790. This database is a collection of Hispanic family history records for area residents in that year. Each entry provides the individual's name and sex. Many entries include birth date and birthplace information. It contains the names of nearly 3,100 persons. Extensively researched, this database constitutes an instrumental aid to Spanish-American research.
