A religious oriented newspaper, the Independent was published at 114 Nassau St., New York City, New York. This database contains the Ministerial Register, a few obituaries, and a necrology from the 1892, 1893, and 1895 issues of the newspaper. The ministerial register lists ministers mostly residing in the USA and born during the early 1800's. Each listing contains, name, current residence, position they are called to, death date where applicable, and denomination. This database would be helpful for those seeking ancestors who were ministers in the late nineteenth century.
