New York City Wills, 1744-58

Description (from source site)
By the mid 18th Century, New York City was one of the most important cities in British North America. As such court records can be of immense value. This database is a collection of will abstracts, originally published in the late 19th Century. As a multicultural city, there are wills for many Dutch, Danish, and Swedish residents, in addition the English majority. Covering the years 1744 to 1753, each record reveals valuable information regarding the individual, often including information about family members and witnesses to the will. With over 5000 records, this collection can be a valuable database for researchers of early New York residents.
