Description (from source site) Created in 1785, Victoria County is located in the western part of New Brunswick and is bordered by Restigouche, Northumberland, York, Madawaska, and Carleton counties, as well as Aroostook County, Maine. Compiled from original federal documents in the National Archives of Canada, this database is an index of more than 21,000 census records for Victoria County (district) residents in 1901. It includes the following subdistricts: Andover (A), Drummond (B), Gordon (C), Grand Falls (D), Lorne (E), Madawaska (F), Perth (G), St. Ann (H), St. Bazile (I), St. Francis (J), St. Hilaire (K), St. Jacques (L), and St. Leonard (M). Each record provides the residents' name, birthplace, and relationship to the head of household. Film, district/subdistrict, page, entry, and family numbers are also provided to help researchers obtain the original record, if desired.
