Situated along the Great Miami River in western Ohio, Dayton was home to nearly 25,000 people in 1890. This database is a collection of four directories for the city originally published between 1888 and 1892. It is a listing of city residents in those years. In addition to providing the resident's name, it provides their address and occupational information. It includes the names of over 59,400 people, mostly heads of households. For the researcher of ancestors from southwestern Ohio this can be an extremely valuable collection.
