Dover was named in 1794 after Dover, England. In 1804 the Earl of Selkirk founded his Baldoon settlement in the north part of Dover bringing Scottish immigrants with him.
In 1881 Dover was subdistrict letter F in the census district of Kent, #180. This database will prove useful to many seeking ancestors in Dover, Kent County, Ontario, Canada in 1881.
