Established in 1777, Powhatan County is just 30 miles from Richmond, Virginia's state capital. This database is collection of birth records from the county between 1853 and 1896 (excluding 1863, 1868, 1869, and 1895). Providing valuable information regarding more than 21,000 individuals, the records were taken from existing county documents held by the state. Researchers will find each person's name, race, gender, birth date, and parents' names.
