The Southern Christian Advocate was the official publication for the Methodist Conferences in the states of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Many death and obituary notices were included in the publication of this periodical. This database contains only these notices and covers the issues from 1867 to 1878. Information from each notice often includes spouse, parents, and children, where applicable, birth date, death date, and marriage date where available. Also, included in some entries are church information and the person submitting the original notice, often appearing at the end of the entry.
