Also included are warlike exploits, national manners and customs, and court intrigues. In this volume, the following families are discussed: Bruces, Comyns, Stewarts, the Dukes of Queensberry, Athole, Roxburghe, Sutherland, the Marquses of Lothian, Ailsa, and Bute, the Earls of Crawford, Stair, Selkirk, Elgin, Airlie, Glencairn, Eglinton, Dundonald, Haddington, Hopetoun, and Barons Somerville and Napier.
