Located in western Indiana, near the Illinois border, the city of Terre Haute is the county seat of Vigo County. This database is a transcription of city directories originally published in 1890 and 1892. In addition to providing the resident's name, it provides their address and occupational information. It includes over 88,900 names, mostly heads of households. For the researcher of ancestors from western Indiana, this can be an extremely valuable collection.
