One of the first counties created the state of Virginia following the Declaration of Independence, Rockingham County, lies in the northern part of the state along the border with West Virginia. Taken from microfilm copies of the original birth records, this database is a collection of birth records for the county between 1891 and 1893. It contains information regarding the child's name, parent's names, sex, race, and date of birth. Also provided to aid researchers, page numbers refer to the original documents from which these entries were taken. With about 1700 records, this can be a valuable source of information to researchers of Virginian ancestors.
