Description (from source site)
Granted statehood in 1863, West Virginia has been home to thousands of residents since it was first settled in the eighteenth century. Prepared under the direction of the Works Project Administration in 1939, this database is a collection of cemetery inscriptions from the state. Each entry provides the decedent's name, birth date, death date, living relative, and survey date. District and name of cemetery are also included, along with a link to a detailed description of the cemetery. With over 5200 entries, this database can be a useful source of information to those persons seeking ancestors from West Virginia.
