Growing up in nineteenth century Wisconsin, Clara Lenroot lived in and around the town of Hudson. This database is a collection of her reminiscences of being raised in the pioneer Midwest. Researchers will find descriptions of her personal experiences with local residents and typical life of a young girl. It also provides home remedies, songs, and food traditions with which she was familiar. For those attempting to understand the culture surrounding life in early Wisconsin, this can be an illuminating database.
