The University of Wisconsin is located in Madison, which is part of Dane County. The first classes at the university started in 1849. This database is a transcription of a directory originally published in 1888. In addition to providing' names of students, it provides names and information on faculty, special lecturers, fellows, other officers, resident graduates, and janitors. The database includes more than seven hundred names.
