Home to about 12,000 people in 1890, Ansonia, Connecticut is located about ten miles from downtown New Haven. This database is a collection of four directories for the city originally published between 1888 and 1891. It is a listing of city residents in those years. In addition to providing the resident's name, it provides their address and occupational information. It includes the names of over 35,900 people, mostly heads of households. For the researcher of ancestors from southern Connecticut this can be an extremely valuable collection.
